Angela Grütters Dip. Trans. FITI
I grew up and qualified as a translator in Germany before moving to the South West of England nearly thirty years ago. With German as my mother tongue and English my language of daily use I am bilingual, with a deep understanding of both cultures. Below you will find a list of services I have supplied in the past. Might you need any of them? If so, I look forward to hearing from you to discuss your needs.
By far the largest part of my work is translation from English into German – and occasionally vice versa – of a variety of texts ranging from EU labour market reports to websites and brochures, film subtitles, market research questionnaires, certificates, old family documents and many more. In addition, I carry out revision, proofreading and transcription work.
I have taught German evening classes, as well as GCSE and A-Level students, written audio-scripts for language learners, and I also offer language practice via Skype. In addition I tutor students with ambitions to become translators. Over four years, I acted as external moderator for the University of Westminster, and I am currently Chief Examiner for the Institute of Linguists (CIoL).
Other language services
Sometimes I am also able to assist clients in dealing with German officialdom, for example relating to VAT, pensions, property transactions, passport & citizenship applications, and so on. I also offer revision and proofreading services of all kinds of documents prior to publication in both German and English.
